861 Clutch pedal adjustment

Pedal height is about 13", way higher than FO-20 says of 9 3/8". The problem is when the pedal is fully depressed the PTO lever is grinding gears trying to enable. I could only engage the PTO with the engine turned off. With a baler attached fully pressing the pedal would cause the baler to slow down or stop, like it was just on the verge of fully disengaging.

I adjusted the clevis and I can engage the PTO (with minor grinding) but now the pedal is at the 12 o'clock position, even higher.

Combined with this the transmission clutch biting point is really high up on the pedal travel e.g. 11 o'clock, making it feel quite awkward. Something seems wrong.

Is the arm on the transmission shaft located with a woodruff key? What other possibilities are there?

I am using the hole on the clevis for two clutch operation.

Thanks, Andy

Yes, unfortunately that is the way it is designed to be. Yours is worse than most due to your nrrd to adjust for clutch wear. It may be a good idea to renew the clutch in the off season.
