8630 john deere

Looking at a 1977 JD 8630 has 10500 hours on it anything good or bad about these tractors. We will be putting on 46 inch rubber on what ever tractor we buy and using it just for spraying. We need to have 4 wheel drive because sometimes we have to spray in the mud.

good, tough tractors, be sure and check the bushings in the center( articulating) and the U-joints.. how much blow-by does it have when it's up to temp?
I would suggest work it hard for a hour or two and look for leaks and the amount of blow-by
also go to the john deere forum and ask the same ?
