870 injection pump

I have a rebuilt one for a 1070, but its to long. I most likely can repair yours cheaper than you can buy one. I do have good used parts on hand for this pump. If interested give me a call. Good luck,,, Al

I was using it today and started to miss and then the pump started to knock no power, at first thought is was a rod knocking . I have put rods and mains in it 300 hrs ago new injectors 2 years ago the pump has 7000 hrs on it!

When you buy a used one you are never really sure what you are getting. You might be buying one with more hours on it than the one you have. Make some calls and ask questions. You might be surprised how reasonable you can get yours repaired, with a warranty, which equals peace of mind. Al 231/757/0064

Pull the pan and check the rods anyway.

I have 2 pumps here that were on running engines when pulled. One from a 770 and from an 870. Both have been in a heated shop for a couple years in a Bosch box. If it were me, and I was going to use them, they would still get put on a test stand, new lift pump and seal kit.

This may sound or seem like a stupid question but have you changed filters lately or do you have a plugged fuel filter?

My 930 diesel did something very similar as you described and it was a plugged filter. The filter wasn't that old.

I prefer Classic view and keep E-mail open if someone wants to get in contact. I switch to Modern view as it shows where members are located, but only if they have the information listed..

The tractor has had a flutter in the exhaust that would come and go when idling ,after I put new injectors in it it never changed anything. That's why I am thinking it in the pump going to pull it off and have it tested that will tell the story may need some more injectors! I put new filters on it today fill them full of transmission fluid and it did nothing to change the way it was running.
