8700 brake fluid

Any tips for what to use for our ford 8700 brake fluid? I don’t think the oil listed in my owners manual is available anymore, internet says a mineral oil based brake fluid?

I believe it is the CNH mineral brake fluid, whatever they call it.

Why would it have not been designed to use the transmission oil like most of the rest of the modern world did on tractors clear back to the 60's

Be SURE to get the correct fluid, as common automotive brake fluid will destroy the rubber seals in the master and slave cylinders.

They used that fluid because if the slave cylinders leak they are internal and the leaked fluid mixes with the transmission and hydraulic fluid.

It's a Ford. They designed their tractors like cars. Everything on separate systems. At least if you lose hydraulics you don't lose steering or brakes.
