88, 99 have hard steering

I have a 1950 88 and a 1953 99, both standards, that are the hardest steering tractors I have experienced. Is there anything to do to rectify this that is feasible?

Have you ever greased them?? There is a grease zerk on the front of the front pedestal, Look inside
the steering gearbox and see if there is any grease in it.

Everything is greased and lubed. Both steering wheels will spin with 1 finger if front end is off the ground. Even took out kingpins and thrust washers have plenty of grease.

that is the nature of the beast with that goofy steering box set up on the 88. i said the same thing once i got mine running.
