i was surprised today to find out oil filters for the oliver 88 are hard to get. went to napa the guy said 30.00 and i will have to locate
one and get it in. went to bumper to bumper same B.S. so i stoppped at the dealer and he happened to have one on the shelf. 21.00 was happy
to get it and them other clowns wanted 30.00. then i phoned them and told them off. what and where are u guys getting oil filters for that
231 engine?

I have noticed bumper to bumper is really slacking in having or willing to get filters recently. Luckily I have a NAPA about a 1/4 mile away and a warehouse about 20 miles away. He usually has the filters I need for my older machines and if he doesn't the warehouse usually does and if I let him know by noon what I need he can get it on the 3pm truck. And I looked up that filter for the 88 and it lists for $30 here too.

usually jobber was cheaper on parts, but i see not the case any more. got genuine dealer agco filter for 21.00 something crazy.

I just cross reference the filters and buy online, usually ebay or the like. Since Napa went full computerized they haven't been the same, and their prices are insane.

Did you accomplish anything when you told them off?

All I can say is; you must have some serious anger issues if you you are telling off employees (like they have anything to do with pricing) at an AUTO PARTS STORE for their prices on tractor parts.

Geez, you guys are making me nervous. I bought a whole big box of Oliver and White filters a couple of years ago at an auction. They're about used up and I'm gonna have to start paying the long dollar unless I can get another deal like the last one.

For a Oliver Super 88 diesel, a Baldwin oil filter is $17.26 ea. or $12.08 ea for a case of 12. this is from bfwebexpressdotcom

That's for the small one. The big one is $19.20 ea, and a case is $13.44.

no i dont have issues, but i sure let them know when things are cheaper at other places such as the dealer. and thats a good thing. are you satisfied with 30.00 for an oil filter???. and if thats all you got to say then keep it to yourself. i am cool calm and collected and reason things out,so there!

But you called them and "told them off," which in no way implies anything cool, calm, and collected. What did you hope that would accomplish to a minimum wage number punching parts retriever?

I don't want to pay $30 either so I'll just go online and save all my time running around and get a decent price shipped to my door. I'm sure the parts stores use computer algorithms to let them know what they should/shouldn't be selling and how much they should be charging. The world has changed, but I can either accept it, move along and adapt, or go out and yell at the clouds with you. I guess I choose the former over the latter.

i am old school and dont shop on line so what in the heck are u trying to prove. making a mountain out of an ant hill. what did u prove???

Mountain out of an anthill? You're the one who went out of your way to call everyone back and "tell them off."

I guess what I'm saying is if you have the wherewithall to be able to post on an internet forum such as this, you have the ability to buy stuff online and solve your problems. That's all.

ok go yell at the clouds! i was not yelling at anybody i told them the dealer filters are cheaper and many times they thank me for that
advise, plus i know them all there! and they are not minimum wage collectors! so put that in ur pipe and smoke it. now i see why this oliver
forum has so few posts. everybody knows everything about nothing. just post to harass. my last time posting on this forum. i will stay with
red and keep yours in the shed. thank you very much for all the negativity and who is next on the list to add more B.S. in the end i am
laughing at you guys totally changing the subject like i am some reject.

I usually get the wix filter number and order from fleetfilters.com the more you order, the more you save.
