88 vs 310 Blocks

I picked up a stock 88 this past weekend cheap at an auction and would like to build a reliable Div 3 puller eventually. Just looking for opinions on where to go with it, whether or not to stick with the 88 block or swap it for a 310 gas. I know a 310 is probably the cheaper route, but in terms of reliability and accessibility to parts is it really worth it? I think the 310 would be a fun build but from what I?ve seen it?s very hard to find a block, let alone parts. Any thoughts?

More than one 88 engine has busted the crankshaft7 main crankshaft and block of the 310 is much stronger and the 12 port head is a bonus

An 88 engine will perform very well and be reliable for Div III, 4 mph. If you plan to jump up to 6 mph and above, you may want to look for a good 310, good cranks are often scarce, best to mag partcle inspect before welding and stroking.
