have a oliver 880 that trans is worn badly, had been running low of oil before I got it ,I looked inside and things badly worn. I am thinking most transmissions are similar will the gears from a 88 work in this case or is this a different gear set up. model is 48-5005 sn 75/220-873 any ideas would be helpful Thanks

Your 880 has a helical transmission (873 number) An 88 is a spur geared transmission. Send me an e-mail with your phone number. J.

I was able to get alot of the worn parts from agco. New shaft, bearings, bushing and a gear.

New. Got them from maibach tractor. There are alot of serial number breaks so make sure you get the right parts. I think the gear I replace I got used from ebay. The tractor is still half torn apart. I think if you can find a older 880, super 88 or maybe a 88 you could convert it back and have a better trans. J would be better suited to tell you about that. I did lots of research but forgot most of it. You can go on agco parts and look up parts aswell but it's kinda confusing with the serial number breaks.
