881 with no serial number

i have a 881 i am go ing to use for parts has diesel engine block cast number310609 the selecto speed trans has no numbers at all where the numbers should be the trans is blue under the red the cast on it is c3nn . question is this trans a new ford factory replacment why it does not have any numbers stamped on it ? i am also assuming the engine is a 172 cu.in

This is very common. When the new generation tractors came out for 1964 Ford offered a no charge swap out of the originals. Sometimes the old number was transferred over to the new transmission but it often wasn't.
