886

been looking at a pretty nice 886. Never been around 86 series. Anything to look out for on them? I have a 1066 and 706 so I know the in's and outs of those. Do you think a 886 would pull a 15 great plains drill if it had weight and duels?

886 is 85-90 hp.86 series are good tractors.Among the best.I know of two,always amazed what they can pull,those two have been bullet proof tractors.

We had a 1086 and it was a heck of a tractor. My spring purchase next year will be a 986 or 1086 to rake and hay with.

We pulled a 12' Great Plains both with and without duals with 886. You will have no issues. The 86 series has a shorter wheel base that improved turning. However this gives it a bouncy ride compared to the 66 series. Also this was first series with digital dash they are problematic now that they are 40 years old. Be prepared to install aftermarket analog gauges. I like the 66 series tractors better than the 86.

a good friend loves his 886. he uses it to cut rake and bale hay. it is only 90 pto hp I doubt you can pull a 15 ft notill drill it should pull a twelve ok. the issue i think is the weight of the drill when full. I have been told that 125 hp is perfect for a 15ft no till drill when filled. but then again it is different every where. i saw a guy pull a 15ft drill with a 105 hp 986 and it rolled along and i have seen a 100hp 4230 pull a jd 750 drill. but the 886 is a good tractor.
