I have a New Holland 8970. We had a steering issue where the steering would stick a little wherever the steering wheel would stop. Just enough to make the auto steer kick out. If I turned up the sensitivity I could get it to work. Long story short we have replaced the steering motor, checked the pivot bearing, redid the steering cylinders, checked all bushings and greased. The dealer says everything works hydraulically but the only problem he could find was the main hydraulic pump on the side is running high pressure at all times. It doesn’t come down to 400 lbs. when it is idle. We swapped the entire hydraulic block in the back. Swapped pumps. Swapped relief valves. Swapped everything he could think of. It’s like the pump goes to the valve and back. The engineers don’t know what it could be. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Supposedly this may be an European version but I find that a little hard to believe. The machine is relatively low houred and has not been worked hard.
