8N Belly Mowers

Does anyone sell belly mowers for 8Ns. If so what size would be recommended. 60 inch? Are they manual lift, or do they work off the Hydro,

Woods has/had several different models. Folks that have them seem to like them a lot but be advised you will need to dedicate your tractor to the mower. Too much trouble to R&R. Here's a picture of a Model L503 on John Smith's 8N - more pics on his website. Real heck of a lawn tractor :roll:

I've got a fair chunk of lawn to cut (PITA-thank the weather for 'browning' most of it early this year -less cutting) but I sure wouldn't mind a LARGE patch 'o' grass if I had that unit !!

I have a 5-foot Woods belly mower on my '51 8N and it works quite well if I don't let the grass get too long (in which case I revert to my brush-cutter on the rear of my '52). I've been a little disappointed that the Woods won"t handle taller grass/weeds.

Go to Woods website: Agriculture/turf. Look for literature. Select "Undermount mowers for vintage tractors." They're not cheap but a lot better than a lawn tractor for $?????.
