Well now that the warmer weather has arrived, going to do some work on my project 8N, even though I'm retired, it's true, busier now than before. It all seems to work quite well, did my first oil change on it a while back, did a lot of oil changes before but this was a little bit of an adventure, had to use a little bit of "umph" to get the plug off, replaced the cardboard gasket with a type of rubberized gasket material got from a factory they use for their hydraulic and coolant lines, got the dimensions traced with compass cut out perfect, why so much carboard gaskets? Cheaper I guess. Rewired, correctly now, the amp meter that I thought didn't work works now, took out battery and battery box, which was all white with corrosion, when cleaned was in very good shape, impressed. Replaced the resistor block, which was bypassed, had to use my impact screwdriver, which I bought many, many moons ago and never used until now to get the screws out. But what is getting me is that a lot of the mechanics and electrics look original, 48? Took the top off, rad looks original, a few small patches on the top tank, regulator looks original, still works? Are they original don't know. Mechanically everything works. After replacing governor I only have two oil leaks left, but don't think it's ready to replace seals yet, 1 from the pto, 1 drop every couple days, the other from that cotter pin thingy on the bottom of transmission, 1 drop every couple of weeks. My biggest aggravator is that every part I have to order, I try to make a list of everything I want and order it all at once but there are always things that come up when you start doing other things, then you have to wait and twiddle your thumbs. I know that this is only small stuff, but the N runs it all works let it be for now.
