I am as you probably know with all my rediculous questions a first time tractor expert uhh I meant to say owner/rebuilder. I need to as this, Iam dismantling and have gone about as far as I intend to go except for the manifold and carb. Should I put the carb ina bucket of clean gas and let it soak etc?? Seems like I heard that sometime somewhere. Devious

Soaking one in gas would be like soaking your self in sweat and saying your clean. You need something like Berrymans Chem dip to clean one or forget it

OK for you Old and Larsen. I will do that as I don t know thr age of it. It looks brandnew on the outside. Soneone must have changed it while they were trying to get it running again when it quit. Devious

Nothing wrong with doing it yourself but for my money I would send the carb to Gary (GB in MT) and have him do it. Best money I've spent in a long, long time. If Santa gets my letter this year, he'll bring me another carb attached to an 8N, or another Ford (NAA, 600, 700, etc). Gary will get that carb also as long as he is willing!

NO I mean the outside of it looks brand new. It may have been put on right before I bought it. The guy died a short time before I saw it and bought it. I looks bright Goldish and has no scum at all on it. Devious
