Hello gentlemen, Ive posted a few times on the ford forum, I believe this is the first time on the N forum. Me and my dad are working on his 50 model 8N and have the axle trumpets off, so we were going to replace the old draw pins. He had a new set he had purchased some time ago for just such an opportunity. We got the old ones out which were still very tight, the hole in trumpet is like new. Well the new pins wont fit, the taper is wrong ( the angle of the taper to acute) . The packaging says fits ford, did ford use different taper on some tractors? Do yall know where I could find proper pins?

"We got the old ones out which were still very tight"

That is a CLASSIC case of "If it ain't broke we'll fix it 'til it is"!

What were you trying to accomplish removing genuine American made OEM parts that were still doing there job/tight in place and attempting to replace them with parts from "The Land of Almost Right?

At this point, I would put the OEM parts back in place using some high strength Locktite to keep things as secure as possible plus prevent the possibility of any oil leaks.

Sorry wore out I should have been more specific, the lift arm end of the pin was what was worn. You may very well be right copperhead dont play, hadnt considered that. I think well just order a set from this site and see how they work. Thanks for the help.
