8N engine rebuild

I have an 8N block with rotating valves and 9/16 oil pump gear. When we pulled the head off it had no sleeves in it and .083 pistons. We took 40 sleeves out of another block and slipped them into this one and they go in by hand without having to pound in which is not a good sign as someone apprently tried to run this engine without the sleeves in it and wore down the cylinder walls. Any hope for this block? Can it be machined to use 90 sleeves and the lip cut into it or is it too close to the valves? Any 50 sleeves out there? If the 40 sleeves are used it would appear they are too loose in the walls. Thanks, John Ayres

I think this site sells oversize .040 sleeves. If there's too much wear for that, yes, it can be bored for the .090s

Get it bored and go with the 90 sleeves. The wear in the cylinders won't be even. More wear at the top. And some what egg shaped. Do it right. bore it and be happy.
