8N engine rebuild

Is there a web site with specs for the 8n for a rebuilder? End play, main bearng clearance, rod clearance etc? Thanks, John Ayres

John........squander $25 (cheap) for the I&T FO-4 manual. Has all the specs you need. It also has pictures for the reading challenged ........respectfully, Dell

There will be a book with all the specs but here goes anyway: Mains 1 1/2 to 2 thous clearance
rods 2 thous clearance, end play from 6-9 thous, cam gear to cover 4-6 thous, Pistons 2 thous, ring gap 15 to 20 thous, piston pins, 2-4 tenths clearance, sleeves 1 thous press fit, valves to guide 1 to 1 1/2 thous clearance. Head and block should be resurfaced and check main cavities and maybe line hone and rod big end may have to be reconditioned.

If there are no issues, why resurfice the head and block ? Can't it just be block sanded lightly ?
