8N ford tractor transmission?

I finally got my 8n running, I took it outside for a trial run
I was going through the gears and all the gears worked, but in 2nd gear it makes a horrible clunking sound thinking something was going to break it was really loud, but all the other gears worked fine
Any ideas what it might be?

I'm located in Oswego NY upstate, only gear that is not working properly is definitely 2nd gear, 4th makes a little noise probably wouldn't use 4th because it's pretty fast
let me know if you have anything

If you want to make the drive, it would be free.
It is missing the input shaft and the shifter needs a new tension spring keeper.
Otherwise, it was working when I drove the tractor in and disassembled it.
The transmission has been setting in my heated garage ever since.

well right now with winter among us wouldn't be a good idea, I do appreciate your generosity, if you still have it when the weather breaks maybe a road trip will work

I can certainly understand the weather and road conditions!
It's been here for a few years now, just taking up space.
I'm not going to scrap it but would let it go to someone who needs it.
It had a Hupp auxiliary transmission in it, which I removed.
That's why it's missing the input shaft.
It had a Sherman in it at one point as well, so the case has holes for both.
