8n Ford Trans/Hyd/Diff Fluid

I am wondering about what types of oil I should run for the Transmission, Hydraulic and Differential reservoirs? The book I have says SAE 90 but I don't think that's what I want to run for my hydraulics. I was also wondering how much in each reservoir? Any recommendations would be very helpful. Thank you

Joey:

Your 8N has a single combination sump for the transmission, differential and hydraulic system.

Ford originally recommended GL-1 90W oil for this sump but now recommends CNH 134D or equivalent.

The much more modern 134D provides much better performance in cold weather.

Joey........would you believe CNH is Case-New-Holland, successor to Ford-New-Holland???
Recommended hydro-tranny oil; spec: M2C-134D. Just read the fine print on the label. It take 5-gals of hydro-tranny oil. Drain yer little square diffy plug first. Then the 3"-tranny. And finally the 3"-hydro-plate. Do NOT try to drain out the corner pressure test port. Fill is up by the tranny shifter. Take yer time to avoid splashing all over. I have a LONG plastic spout that aims pretty good. Most big funnels are too long spouted. Cutter OFF. Remember OVERFILL will grease yer brakes and drain out yer tranny drain holes. And yes, yer tranny drain holes are supposed to have cotter-keys jingleing out them to keep from clogging with oily dust. .......Dell

most generic utf fluids ( walmart, tsc, etc. ) will meet the M2C134D spec.. read the pail to be sure.

Hey Dell didn't you leave out one in that Case New Holland/Ford. Isn't I-H suppose to be in there some place or have they dropped I-H out of it. I know it was Case/I-H and it was New Holland/Ford then Case/I-H merged with them some how and they are all one now so where did the I-H part of it go??????

was there ever a new holland tractor or did they just add there name to someone else's design
