8n front tire size

What is the correct front size tire goes on an 1950 ford 8n?Thank you in advanced~:

It could have come with either 16 inch tires or 19 inch tires. I think if I remember right the 16s where an option. The 19 inch tires where drop when the NAA came out in 1954 and was not offered on the 600 series tractors

As and option only!!!. NAA owners manual I have says 19 inch where standard and 16 as an option.

Google it! You argued that point with Dean in 2006. Ever think your manual might be mistaken. For years you got Jubilees and NAAs confused. What real difference does it make they could get the tractor with any tire they wanted, but 99 % of the research books I checked says 16 inch tires were the norm.

All 1952 8N's came from the factory with 5:50x16 front tires and rims as standard equipment.

Last fall, I replaced the tires and rusty rims on my '49 8N. I went with 5:50x16 replacing what was already on there. A local tire shop that specializes in tractor/heavy equipment tires had 2 of the new, ribbed 5:50x16s in stock (priced at $119 each, with tubes), on the rack.

For what it's worth, I asked about the 19 size, and they said it was something that they seldom see these days on the old Fords (they weren't in stock anyway), and would require ordering--but they told me that size is certainly obtainable.

My 51 has 19" so I'd think that's what it came with as I can't for the life of me seeing someone taking 16"'s off to put these on.

One of the many errors in Ford Tractor literature. Took months from writing to printing so once in the works there was no way to correct it. Long story short, 16 fronts became standard commencing with 1952 8N production.

I just mentioned that there were many such errors in Ford Tractor publications. I also mentioned that it took months to correct them as there was a long lead time from writing to printing and then distribution. Drove the writers nuts, I know they were right across the hall from where I worked at Ford Tractor in the late 1950's. Again, 16 front tires were standard on Ford Tractors starting with the 1952 8N production. 19 remained available as replacements.
