after driving my 8n on a 99 degee day i took the gas cap off to check the fuel level.it was under pressure.i looked in the tank and the fuel looked like it was boiling.there doesnt look like there is a vent on the gas tank.my cap is nhot vented.will a vented cap fix this or not?if so where can i get a vented cap?my cap is the stock cap sold from carpenters.

thanks,fran

The tank is vented, not the cap. Because the tank vent gets clogged, many folks have switched to vented caps. CNH has a cap exchange program, but many dealers just ignore it.

Boiling gas is an unfortunate by-product of ethanol in the gas. Try hi-test which has less ethanol. Or, if you want to pay the price, avgas. Some (very few) gas stations do carry ethanol free gas; none around my part of the country though.

That's unfortunately right! Nearest station to me is 100m,there is a website that shows where the real gas is sold. Can't remember the name, maybe real gas.com.If you use hi-test gas ,You'll have to get some wheelie bars[he he he ]Do like Bruce said and get a new cap and don't let them flim-flam you.---lha
