I'm having a hard time getting my 8n running i bought it not running and it had ran 2years ago.the fuel is to the carb and leaking out of air intake side or carb. after you crank it. it feals like it has suction on intake side of carb but not starting i have good spark any help. thanks alot.i did clean the carb. glenn

Have cleaned the sparkplugs (propane torch, be SAFE), or replaced them? (They can LOOK good, but have conductive deposits that keep them from sparking well under compression.)

Having it WARM and cranking over well will help get it started.

If you can do it safely, with a qualified helper, pull-start it, and let it warm up. Work it, if possible.

After that, it should have more compression, and start well again.

Gpaints..........It aint'chur carb. Define good spark......will it jump a 3/16" gap???

Make a "calibrated" sparkie tester from enny ol'sparkie and bend the side electrode out for a full 3/16" gap. Clamp the metal shell to handy bracket for ground. Then plug enny sparkie wire to top of tester. Now crank yer engine with ignition ON. Do the sparkies jump the gap with blue-snott authority? Or are they a wimpy yellowish-orangish poor excuse? Or NO spark at all?

For reference purposes, my eazy starting 6-volt 52-8N sparkies will jump a full 3/8" gap.

Bob is correct. All that crankin' and drippin', ya done FLOODED yer sparkies with invisible no-lead contaminates and them lazy sparkies dribble down the center electrode 'stedda' jumpin' the gap. Recommend you replace your sparkies with NEW DRY AutoLite 437 sparkies gapped 0.025". Don't throw yer flooded sparkies out, clean and dry'em one-atta-time in HOT running engine and save'em fer the NEXT time you have hard starting problems. (and there will be a next time)

We have more helpful hints depending whether yer tractor ignition is 4-nipple frontmount or the 5-nipple sidemount. Also need to know whether yer BATTERY is OEM 6-volt or converted 12-volt. Ya gotta tell us. 'cuz I flunked mind reading, just ask my ex-wife of 32yrs...........HTH, Dell yer self-appointed sparkie-meister
