8N hood

Auction coming up supposed to have lots of sheet metal. Are 8n and 9n hoods the same? If not whats different? How to tell witch is what. Need a hood for a 1950 front dist. Thanks.

No, they are not the same. Will,fit but top two bolt holes are diff. Measure the holes in your dash and find one to match. Also 8n has ford embossed on the sides, the 9 & 2n didnt.

The quickest way I know of to tell 9N/2N hoods from 8N hoods
is to look for the air cleaner door in the side. 8N had it, the others
did not. Shown here as the rectangular hole at the far left end.
The script is another good indicator, just don't mistake paint or
decals as the raised/stamped script.
