8N loses power

My 8N runs great when started and has plenty of power until it gets warmed up. Then, it loses power under load. The engine only has a few (less than 50) hours on it since a rebuild.

Sounds to me like a german vergin, when she warms up it gets gutentight.... What oil are you running and what are the climate conditions

I'm using Rotella T 15W-40. Ambient temp 75-90F.

I do not think this problem existed until recently. I may have made a bad choice of words by describing the problem as a loss of power. Actually, what happens is that the engine begins missing under power, as if it is not getting enough gas. I cleaned the carb and mesh filter at the fuel intake on the carb.

It has 3 fuel screens; you cleaned one of them.

Clean the one in the top of the sediment bowl. Don't worry about the one in the tank; just don't open the fuel valve more than 2 turns.

If that doesn't work, open the main jet 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

ndaoway........geeze, what you are describing is weak sparkies. And yer 15-min time frame is classic BAD weaksister ignition switch. Do I haffta tell you to replace yer ignition switch??? $15 (cheap) .......Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister
