8N lost full power

I was using a spring plow out on deer food plot working tractor pretty hard, it was lugging it a good bit. After about an hour all of sudden the exhaust started cracking or popping. It also started to smoke a pretty good trail. It has always let out a little puff when starting it or going full throttle then it would stop. But now the smoke is coming out even at idle. I thought maybe a plug fouled but after putting new ones in its still running same. It feels like it is missing, not smooth at 3/4 throttle. Im guessing a valve problem? Piston ring broke? I was running on borrowed time anyway, knew i was gonna need a rebuild. I just needed it to run a couple more weeks lol.

(quoted from post at 12:06:29 08/29/21) I'd say you blew a head gasket. I'd do a compression check and I bet 2 cylinders sid by side have low compression

Would a symptom of blown head gasket be oil in water or water in oil, the fluids look to be ok.

(quoted from post at 13:37:31 08/29/21) Depends on how it blows. If between the cylinder in the right area no coolant in the oil but lack power and smoke

Update i just ran compression test and it is exactly like you said. Front 2 cyl are 115 the back two are 30-35. So will head gasket buy me a couple more weeks? When this 8n was running it was running strong, maybe i will idle her down a touch baby it a little.

A new head gasket installed and torqued down as it should be then retorqued once warm should get you many more years if being used. Head gasket blow some time due to being worked hard and getting hot. Or head gasket just gets old and blows
