the tractor starts fine, runs ok untill it starts up an incline and it develops a miss. what should I look for to correct this problem?
Thanks, Jim

Try only driving on flat ground or downhill?

But on a more serious note, it sounds like a possible fuel delivery issue, unless something in the ignition circuitry isn't tightened down and is, moving out of place when going up a hill.

(quoted from post at 08:00:51 05/15/23) Main jet is too lean for load, timing or advance is off, plug gap or minimal spark.

Try the easy stuff first. The main jet is the screw at the front of the carburetor. Turn it out (CCW) just an 1/8 - 1/4 turn. You have plenty of gas in the tank?

If that doesn't help, re-post this on the forum just below this one.

Fast fun simple and cheap ignition test. At dusk,or dark with the tractor running observe the spark plug wires, any signs of arcing is no good. Mist lightly with a spray bottle of water, a little liquid soap helps the water cling. A change in running when misting lightly is an indication of bad plug wires. Also check the cap and rotor and the coil wire for condition.

I will take all suggestions into consideration including backing UP the hill and get back to you all at a later date.
Thanks to all, Jim
