8n Oil Change

I recently had to remove the trumpet on my 8n to replace a lower lift pin. Everything went fine except the drain plug closest to the front of the tractor, I think it's the transmission drain plug, is leaking slightly. I want to fix this but would rather not have to drain the whole back of the tractor. I know those sections are separate so will only part of the oil drain or all of it. The plug needs to come all the way out because the gasket needs replaced. Thanks for the help and for all the help replacing the lift pin. All the knowledge here is priceless.

"I know those sections are separate so will only part of the oil drain or all of it. " Well that is partly true. Actually all sections connect although there are 3 drain plugs. Maybe if you run the front wheel up on ramps not as much oil would drain out.

Perry.......ain't no law that sez you can't re-use yer recent 5-gals of hydro-tranny oil iff'n you catch it innnna clean buckett.

The N-Hydraulics is 3-drains and 1-fill'em-up. And them BIG 3in tranny drains oil ebberrywharr. Even up on a frontwheel ramp, yer gonnna gitta oilbath. Byte the bullet, drain the square diffy plug FIRST 'cuz it peeeees innna buckett with some accuracy. You'll gitt about 3+ gals outta the diffy. Now yer BIG 3in tranny plug has only about 1-pt to drain up yer armpit.

Now goforth and replace yer leaky 3in tranny plug seal. .......Dell
