8N oil pressure?

What is an expected oil pressure at cold start for my 8N?
Then what is a safe operating oil pressure after warmup and under a load?

15w-40 oil, 30-50# depending on the temp and wear on the engine, fresh start, idle RPMs. I have one tractor with 4k hrs. runs 30. Another with 1k hrs., 50. All my tractors have the pressure drop somewhat as the engine warms up, expanding the clearances and the oil thinning out especially down at idle. Run the RPMs back to PTO speed and it comes back up pretty much.

Let's address the second part of your question this way: Most idiot lights of which I am aware, have a pressure switch that stays open until the pressure crosses the 10# mark, regardless of RPMs....which included loaded. The '70's give or take Chevys I had with an instrument cluster gauge would walk all over the pressure spectrum. A Dodge Ram 4.7 V8 jumped up to 30 when you started it and never dropped below.

I think I read that there are 2 oiling philosophies: One is low pressure, high volume, the other is the opposite. I'm assume GM had the high flow and the RAM had the high pressure.

Welcome Berghandler1 to the forum. You didn't do anything wrong, but the forum just below this one is for the early N tractors like yours.
Like Texasmark is implying, there really isn't an expected oil pressure. In my experience anything below 30 while cold is suspect and under 10 when warm would indicate that it's time to investigate. What are you seeing on your 8N?
