8N on TV

This past Sunday while watching Christmas movies on the ION TV network, one of the movies pictured an 8N working on the Christmas Tree Farm. The name of the movie was "The Spruces and the Pines". It will probable be shown again before Christmas.

I watched that also. Quite a bit of 8n camera time. The tractor looked recently restored, but in the movie the tractor hadn?t run in years. Lol

ive seen one or two in a couple of commercials, another movie that has a 8N is "son in law".
at the start of "alaske the last frontier" tv show, you see a 2N, and ive seen a 8N on occasion too. the usual "old tractor" you see being used by that family lately is a wide front end 2 cyl deere, not sure if its a B or a 50. yes theres a allis 5040 with a loader but thats kinda modern.

The last time I saw an N tractor in a movie was and old one with Judy Garland who lived on a farm. Somehow they managed to buy a brand new N tractor from the dealer in town.

Judy Garland was driving it home to the farm and it overheated. She had to stop at a neighboring farm for water.

Come on...it was a brand new tractor right from the dealers lot and it overheated?????

FORD tractors pop up in many old movies and TV shows -there's a list on the other site. Models include 9N, 2N, 8N, NAA, Hundred Series, Thousand Series and even a few Moto-Tugs. Movies like John Wayne in "The High & The Mighty" with a Korean war era Moto-Tug right at the end of the movie, to the "Green Acres" TV Show with a brand new FORD 6000. There are some newer recent commercials as well sporting N's and other Fords as well. One good FORD JAM HANDY professionally produced promo film of the new 8N and its implements is "Holiday For Bill" and you can UTOOB it or get your own copy for a donation on the other site.

What the heck was Andy doing discing a field? I would have sworn I'd seen every episode they ever made but don't remember him ever driving a tractor.

Are you sure that pic wasn't from his movie "No Time For Sergeants"?

Have you ever seen a movie called "Motel Hell"? The farmers use a 8N to pull "vegetables" from the ground when they're ready. Weird Movie, came out in 1980.
