8n parts...which one ?????

I have a 1952 side mount 8n...Found a complete set of trans gears and a hydrolic pump for it...the problem is I can only afford one at this time, which one should I get only a 3 or 4 dollar difference ?????? Thanks

If its a piston pump and not a vane pump you probably will need it before the gears.

I would get both, but if you can only get one, I would get the pump.

if/when you break a gear or pump and your tractor is sitting there unusable....
you'll find at [b:99e26346c6]that[/b:99e26346c6] time the part you [b:99e26346c6]have[/b:99e26346c6] to have will cost considerably more than $30 if you can find one at all.

pssst...he'll take $50 for the both of them.
And if you absolutely don't have the cash...sigh, I know that feeling...buy the pump.
N trannys are pretty tough...pumps usually fail first.

What year did they change the size of the reverse gear ? A 52 should have the big gear but I assume the smaller gear would work if you swapped the whole set ? I don't know what year the parts tractor is ?
