Hi all,
I picked up a new proofmeter and a new (metal) cable for my 51 8n (sidemount dist).
The old one was rusted out and the cable non functional.
I hooked everything up and it seemed to work fine. Max RPMs were 1800 with the throttle all the way with no load. (Good/Normal?)
However, when I brought the tractor back down to idle I heard a faint clickity-clackety sound from inside the proofmeter.
Is this normal, or do I have some cable slippage inside the proofmeter making noise?
The proofmeter response didn't seem to indicate there was slippage of spinning cable, but I've never seen or heard one in operation before.
Thanks,
Chris
