My radiator cap tail is not orientied with the centerline of the tractor (see photo). Is the radiator filler neck misslocated or do I have a defective radiator cap?
Thanks

I have run into this problem before your rad. looks original the cap must be after market i ended up getting one from ebay. Now when i get a rad. i make sure it comes with cap but maybe someone can tell you more about it

I had that problem with a new cap I got on E bay.

I ground out the spot welds holding the cap to the ornament. Got a new cap at Napa. put the new cap on the tractor, got some J B Weld put it on new cap and put ornament on straight. clamped it with a rachet strap. Done deal.

Just a quick note. I ran into this and what I discovered was that the radiator had been repaired and the shop had removed the filler neck. When they put it on they soldered it on crooked compared to the directionality of the cap. I just heated it up and repositioned the neck and all was cool. LOL

Could someone look at their radiatior filler neck and check to see if the notches are in line with the radiatior core centerline? If they are, I will re-relocate the filler neck to correct the problem ........... I do not want to do it if it is the cap problem.
Thanks

Mine (from nnalert) has a big slotted screw in the middle. Just loosen and rotate the center to wherever it needs to be to tighten down and line up with the center of the hood.

I'll look tomorrow & see if mine looks like yours but I had one that didn't line up & surprisingly turned it a little harder one day & it went right where it was supposed to. I just wasn't twisting it hard enough.
Maybe you'll get lucky too.
