After wasting time trying to fix the starter rI took you advice and bought a new starter. Solved that problem. thanks

James.......what part of "disconnected from brushes" don't you understand??? And NO that is NOT JB Weld repairable. Byte the bullett and trade yer BAD starter motor fer NEW rebuilt on with modern "clutch" style Bendix. As a general comment on starter Bendix's, they must be SQUEAKY CLEAN. Spray with evaporative BRAKE cleaner and letter drip dry. ........the amazed Dell"
Now I need rear tire info / advice. My '51 8n blew out a rear tire. One it came with It was cracked and looked dry but has lasted 3 years. The rear tires are 14 4 28 s. both tires match and look about tobe in the same condition.
My question: what size can I replace the blown one with and still use the remaining one. The reason for doing so is obviously my budget. I am searching for a used one in that size but so far no luck. so can I mix sizes for the time being?
thank you James
