8N running board

I just bought an 51 8n, the left running board is different than my 48 8n. The left board has a different pattern, not the diamond pattern of the 48, the 51 has more like dots and it also has a molded in slot along the side next to the tractor. It seems to fit like the 48 style. What does this come off? It might be an aftermarket replacement? The right side is the same as the 48.

I cannot answer your question about the originality of your running board without seeing a picture, but by '51 there was no asbestos
underneath the running board like there was earlier.

That is the pattern on my Funk and 51.
