8N serial number

Curious if someone could help me decipher this serial #. I just picked this 8N up from an estate and want to learn about its history.

If that is a 38941 it is a 1948.

Mark.......congratulations, you have the "braggin' rights" to 1948 8N. Early 8N's had the weird 4-nipple front mount dizzy, later 8N's (1950) had the 5-nipple side mount dizzy. You kenn count nipples, kent you? 4-nipple front mount points (0.015) are adjusted on the kitchen table, 5-nipple side mount points (0.025) kenn be done on the tractor. Braggin' rites and $5 will gittcha a kuppa kauphy at Starbucks. ........HTH, the amazed Dell

We need more pics to really help . That serial number says 48 8n but that is for the block which may have been changed in the last 60 years . It could even be on a 9n / 2n .
