8N Serial Nunber

I"ve got what I thought was a 1952 8N.
It has a front mounted distributor and I read one of your postings stating that the fromt mounts were from earlier year models.
Can anyone enlighten a novice?
I"ve looked for the serial number but can"t locate it -- help.
