8N starter bendix

Does anyone know where I can get a Bendix for my 8N starter, and I mean a proper Bendix not the piece of c**p ratcheting one I was sold, but one that you don't have to fight to get to retract?
Went to start my 8N and the battery was low, so the Bendix stuck. Put on a brand new battery, but the Bendix stayed stuck, took the starter motor out and fought for the next hour to get enough pressure on the Bendix to remove the retaining pin. Tried everything to retract the Bendix with no success.
Then it occurred to me if I have to go through this dog and pony show should it happen again I'd rather just have the original Bendix and put up with it's problems.

The starter drive you have is a GREAT improvement over the original drives.

If it was truly stuck/jammed with the ring gear, likely the ring gear has badly worn areas and needs to be replaced.

If it simply remained engaged with the ring gear when the battery went dead, that's what it would be expected to do and cranking should have continued when the new/charged battery was installed.

Probably, if you keep a charged battery, in good condition in the tractor the problem won't happen again, UNLESS the ring gear is in bad shape.

Problem solved.
A neighbor had a spare one with an original Bendix.
