8N thought I could fix it but.....

As brief as I can.....worked all today on a late model 8N 3-pt. It doesn't start to lift until the control lever is half way up. It was lifting a good load but with no normal depth control settings--just up and down. Working all day with the IT manual I made all the adjustments as close as I could (the cam pin is 1/2 worn through) but now it only lifts half way up--but when you drop it I have some position control! In both cases (before and after my adjustment effort) the control lever doesn't start to do anything until it is half way up. Sure could use some help!

Google Zane Sherman and his lift jig. It will make life a lot easier and there are instructions, and he sends a cam follower pin for good measure. I have one and it was worth my coin.

He is from Alabama. Remember you are probably dealing with some worn out parts.

so the cam pin is half wore thru and you are wondering why it is not working perfectly? ...?...

fix it THEN adjust it.. otherwise you are still going to be setting there wondering why it don't work correctly...
