8N tire pressure

Howdy folks. I need assistance, again. I purchased 12.4x28 (8 Ply) with tubes, for the rear and 6.00x16 3 rib (8 Ply) with tubes for the front of my 8N. The tires are not labeled with a recommended pressure.
My owner's manual shows pressure for the original tires only. Does anyone know where I can locate the proper pressure for 8 ply tires?
Thanks in advance,
Sean

Higher ply tires can handle higher pressures (and loads). Generally, 35 for the front and 14 for the rear will handle most situations for those sizes.

Higher ply rating just means the tire is capable of withstanding a higher pressure and load. For your purposes the loads would most likely be no more than what the tire pressure as stated in the manual is good for so I would set them to that level. Higher pressure without enough load being applied will make the tire too round and will reduce your contact area. This reduces your traction and would accelerate the wear at the center of the tire.

The tire sidewall doesn't state a recommended pressure because that will vary depending on the vehicle they're mounted on and the load is being carried.

On a light tractor like an 8N I would think that more than 10 or 12 psi max would make them too hard. That is a larger tire than the tractor was really made fore and with a larger tire at less load a lower pressure is usually used. Think of high flotation tires that only use a few psi. Not the same but you get the idea. You might go as low as 8 or 9 psi if you don't have rear mounted implements. Try different pressures and see how the tires look and feel, and how traction is. An 8 ply tire will have a stiff sidewall so maybe a lower pressure than a lesser ply tire will work.

You should be running 12 lb in the rear, 35 to 45 lb in the front. If you have a front loader run 45 in the front.
