8n tractor hesitates & dies

When pulling the throttle to accelerate, at about half way on the quadrent my 1951 Ford 8n hesitates and dies unless I pull the choke about half way. It seems to run normal and does not stall when accelerating with choke about half way out. Any ideas on how to fix this? The fuel flow is excellent. The carburator is new.

I have a marvel schebler clone, cheep
aftermarket carb, that came to me on a
fixer 8n. It needed the choke pulled
about 1/2 way out as you describe. Found
it had the wrong size economizer jet.
On modern view near the bottom is the
thread " fixed cheep aftermarket carb"
May be helpful.

Does not matter where the carb came from. Do as Den suggest and back out the main jet 1/2-1 turn. Tell us the results and we will go from there.
