8n tractor lift problems

lift works off&on mostly off.lift clears ground with plow attached just enough to turn. will go all the way up sometimes. but will drop when clutch is engaged,and will not return to highest point. please help. thank you

Tyrone.......enny time you have hydraulic lift "issues", my recommendation is to remove yer 6"-roundy dipstick plate behind yer right heel and look fer squirts while trying to lift an implement. It should be intuitively obvious yer PTO operated hydraulic pump will stop pumping and holding yer plow up when ya clomp yer clod-hopper on the clutch pedal. This can be a minor annoyance or a major "hate-itt!!!". You could have a hydraulic pump rebuild in the future depending upon yer fussiness.
