8N tranny

Did this tractor come from the factory with a 4 speed trans? My friend owns one & is being told its not factory. I can provide the VIN if needed. Thank you in advance for any info you can provide me with!

If its an 8N, yes it did.

How many times do you have to ask this. ALL and I do mean ALL 8Ns have 4 speeds no ifs and or buts about it. 8N made from 1948 to 1952. The 9N and 2N has 3 speeds and where made from 1939 to 1942 for the 9N and 1942 to 1947 for the 2N. So far you asked this at least 3 places what do you not like the answers you got in the other 2

I asked the question ONCE you jerk. I posted the question on 3 DIFFERENT sites. If you dont have anything better to do than be a smarta** I suggest you find a new hobby. I didn't realize I would get so many replies, and that is why I went to 3 different sites. You are a real jerk.

Hey relax, no one means any harm. I would guess that Old browses more than one forum (as many of us do), and probably responded to your post somewhere else as well.

Feel free to ask more questions, or buy an owner's manual for your friend as many of these fairly simple questions will be answered for you.

You posted it in Tractor talk, the ford forum and the N forum all the same site just different places. All I was saying is that it takes up people time and also takes up space on this site when you post it in more then one forum. Now if you had not gotten any answers in the others I would agree with you but you got answers. I was not getting on to you to make you mad I was doing so because you asked so many places. And you got the same answers in each place
