8n tune up dilemma

Hello, While giving the 8n a tune up, the copper strap in the distributor finally broke off. Question is, can that be repaired/replaced, or is there an insulator that isolates it from the condenser? Thanks, Dave

Couple ways to fix that. Easy one is to use solid copper wire. Or you can use the copper strip from an old set of points to make a new one, hard part is putting a hole in both ends.

Thanks for the reply, Nicely done. I can fashion something like that, but will need to insulate it from the plate. The reason I ask is it looks like there is nothing to isolate the copper strip and the condenser wire from the body of the distributor plate. Thanks again, Dave

You can get those little 1/4" square white plastic insulators I used from NAPA.

Not sure how the thing was running and not grounding out.
