8n V8 conversion drawings/blueprints

Looking for drawings in PDF or CAD format. I"ve seen a few companies online that offer kits, but for 750 bucks I could buy a lot of beer and make my own at work.

Does anyone know of a place where I can find the adapter plate drawings for a ford flathead motor, or other motor for that matter?

Thanks,

Cam

Marvin Baumann has put lots of engines in N series fords.

Check out his website, its pretty neat. Other than that I can't help much; don't know where any PDF or CAD files are. You could measure the bell housing and engine and figure a plate out.

With all of our laser cutting technology at work, I've been kicking the idea around myself. If you find anything keep us posted.

If you don't find one just Trace out what you have on your V8 to what you need on your 8n bellhousing, like I did, than Figure out the thickness you need and send it out to the machine shop.
Probably cheaper to buy the kit and forgo the beers.

I doubt you will find such without cost.

Intellectual property is valuable and most companys do not give it away.

Do you guys custom cut for cash customers? If so I'd be interested in getting quotes for the items I am currently getting from another source. All steel - 11ga to 3/8" thick. I also have one larger piece in the works that I would like to go 1/2" thick on and shipping from my current mid-west source is going to be a killer me....

I'll send you an email so we can discuss.

I never understood the charm of installing a different engine in an N.
Cool factor?
Maybe for some.
I'd rather spend my dough on a nice 3600 or some such.

Well, the idea was that I wanted to rebuild a v8, as I am finishing up the N engine rebuild. I enjoy it, and would like to do it again.

Figure a v8 on CL is 300-600 depending on condition. find a bum tractor for 500-1000. rebuild the engine using as little as possible new parts hopefully under 2k.

Not really about money, more about fun. easier to sell to the wife too.

Also, I have access to a tight tolerance CNC mill and all the scrap metal I want as long as I can have the patience to wait for it to hit the recycle dumpster.
