motor has a tag on it "parry automotive ltd" assembled by 11 FT, 3/3/60 030 cylinder throw 030 main 020 is this still worth restoring since it probably been rebuilt? 122 compression on all 4

Mike........and the question is??? Iff'n yer compression is truely 122psi, them's "braggin' numbers". Doesn't yer engine run??? Why are you worrying about restoring what appears to be a good engine. Ford compression specs: 90psi minimum and yer complaining about 122psi??? .......respectfully, Dell who don't understand the question

what is it? I assume its an 8n. What year? what is the overall condition on the tractor? anything is restorable depends on how much blood, sweat, tears, and last but certenly not the least money$$$. could we see pics?

Dell Hows it going? No not complaining just didnt know if it was good worth restoring the tractor with a rebuilt motor? does it take away from value? ive just got the manuals from this sight really havant started reading them yet. i tried to turn it over with the starter had to take it apart lube it up finally got it moving but i think it needs rebuilding brushes are only 1/4 inch.but i doubl checked the compression with a friend of mines digital meter as he races and is really pcky about that stuff.

Well think about it. That tractor is 50 plus years old and who know how many times the engine has been opened up. The reason why these engines have sleeve is so they can be made almost new just by replacing the sleeves. As for worth an 8N is only worth about $3500 tops not matter what so is it worth fixing well yes but it will still only be worth so much

Eat supper at Taco Bell & you'll have all the reading time you'll need for those manuals!

Mike.......unlike some sphincterly challenged automotive collectors that "brag" about having matching s/n's (Corvette owners come to mind) having low s/n's or never been rebuilt engine has only been for braggin' rights of self-appointed tractorally correctness inspectors.

What good is a cosmetically beautiful trailer queen iff'n the engine don't run and needs rebuilding??? The fact that yer engine was once rebuilt, so what? The 122psi compression numbers are "braggin' numbers", what more do you want???

Its good to know what yer engine compression readings are. Brand new rebuilt 6.5:1 low compression engine reading are about 125psi. Ford specs: 90psi minimum. Yer good to go.

WARNING: starter Bendix drive must be squeeky clean. NO LUBE yer starter drive, understand??? Clean it NOW!!! .......Dell
