9 hole wheels

I have a cad file laying around here somewhere. just have to find it. The only thing I am not sure of is if all 9 bolt patterns are the same. I used this one to make reinforcing rings for my oliver, and they fit good. Having a CNC laser available makes it fairly easy to make stuff like that. Email me, an I'll see what I can find.

Yeah I have it all on CAD 3D & 2D for laser or waterjet cutting. I believe toe 9-bolt holes are 9 evenly spaced holes on a 9.5 inch circle. I think I have hubs drawn up in AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Inventor.

M.E. Miller Tire sells the reinforcement rings and they even sell replacement 9 hole pressed steel discs that can be welded or riveted into a rim. Everything is listed on their website. I'm sure if you called them up, they might be able to tell you what the dimensions are. All you need is hole size and diameter of the hole pattern measured at the center point of the holes. The angle between holes is 40 degrees. As far as I know, the 9 bolt pattern is standard across all brands (they likely used the same rim supplier). The only thing I have run into in the past that I have found different on a 9 bolt rim is the center hole for the hub. Some of the earlier 9 bolt rims had about 1/4" smaller diameter hole for the hub. I found this out when trying to put a set of rims from a MM ZTU onto a later ZA hub. It wouldn't seat all the way.

What are you working on?

Wheel reinforcement ring dims
Bolt circle is 9.5"
Pilot dia is 7.75"
Ring outside dia is 11.75"
Bolt size is .56125 & .625
Thickness is .3215"
Bolt holes are chamfered on one side and outer edge is chamfered on opposite side.

Ethan,

Yes, that's correct. I've seen it listed as a 9.5" diameter in several places.

Rear hub bolts are usually 9/16" or 5/8" diameter, fine thread. Holes through the rim are probably 11/16" or 3/4" with a slight 90 degree countersink to accomodate the shape of the bolt. That feature might have been formed into the hole when manufactured. Does that sound about right?

Yeah sounds about right. My M&W hubs have one size bolt on one side and larger on the other. Must be they were bored and retapped at one time. There were different center hole sizes in the rims. Look at a run of the mill 9-bolt versus an early R or Z 9-bolt. The big hole is different. 7.5 versus 7.75 diameter??? I'd have to measure again.
