There are 2 fill caps on the 900 I just bought one under the seat one behind and to the right of the seat on the rear end. are these to sepeart chambers? If so which is which and what type/weight fluids should be in them?
Thanks

The one under the seat is for your hydraulic resivoir. New Holland 134D hydraulic oil or equivalant. The rear one is for the differential. 80w90 or, if the seals between the diffy and hyd. res. are or may be leaking, 134D is also acceptable there.

Time for you to purchase a owners manual.. it will answer theeasy questons such as this for your tractors maintenance.

There is also a trans fill, and it can take either 80w90 or the UTF fluid mentioned.

A service and parts manual would benefit you as well.

Yep.. that's the kind of info that would be in the manual.

Dipstick is for hydro section.

Diffy is checked by a pip plug on the left axle trumpet..

tranny also has a check plug.. right side by your heel if I remember right.. ( manual is at home.. )

Why right here. the sponsors of this nice site sell parts.

Up at the left of the screen is a parts link.. though I have included a link to take you right to the page that has the owners manual, aftermarket service manual, and oem service manual.. and parts manual etc..

YT parts - Manuals for 900 tractor

Hello Jake,

While I agree it is great to support this site and the invaluable help and knowledge base it provides, I would recommend looking at Faxon as well. I got a reprint of the original owners manual for less than $30 with quick shipping and no problems. I purchased off ebay and agree with Soundguy, if you own a tractor, you should have the owners manual (at a minimum). I also have the F-20 I&T and use the CNH website for parts info.

I'm pretty sure that the OM here is also 30$.

in either case.. i hope he gets the manuals.. they are very usefull...

I sometimes wish i had a set of each on CD and in print.
