918 flex head

918 flex head on9400 combine. When i am cutting soybeans and on flex and come to the headland and lift the head to turn around the heda will not stabelize but want to go back down without hitting the down button.I have replaced the header, reel button earlier this season.Everything seems to be working freely without dirt buildup.looking for advice as i am shure someone has had this trouble before.thank you

Should be a switch that shuts DAM off when header is raised a foot or so above ground. Mine has a chain that pulls a lever that contacts the switch I mentioned. Chain may be broke? Switch stuck? I have no idea where it might be located on a 9400. Tom

i had the chain on my 7700 with 215 header but this one is different.

Do you have a header height indicator. Mine has a rotary indicator across the feeder house from switch. Maybe something such as that. Just grasping at straws here. Tom

No just the indicator on right side of header.works perfect when on ground.I don;t know what switches it to stabelize it when you lift it at the end.put a new circuit board in controle box at right side of header no difference.at a loss.

Sounds like there is a problem in the box on the right side of the header or with the linkages that activate switches in the box. The box I mentioned is connected to some of the “float“ mechanism and is behind the divider point and near the end of the sickle. Does the header float with the terrain when it is down? Do you have the operator book for the 918? it may be available for download- but I didn’t check to confirm. Good luck.
