930 case Diesel fuel filter question

I am thinking of converting/updating my 930 diesel to screw type filter for the diesel fuel. I know the last of the 930's used that type of filter.

Do any of you have any thoughts on what all will be needed for this type of conversion? Will other Fuel filter heads from other models work for this type of conversion ?

I know i need the Fuel filter head, filters and a hose. Part of my problem is my primer pump isnt very good so I am hoping of solving several problems at the same time
 
I put a 12 volt in line pump under the floor on one 930. Sure makes it easy to prime. I have toyed with the idea of eliminating the third filter and going from the second filter to the injection pump. Why wouldn't it work??

I do have a head for installing the new spin on fuel filters if needed. jc
