Looking at a 930 ck with an eight speed thats for sale. Owner said that it would jump out of fourth gear sometimes. Is this major? What is plow gear with an eight speed? Thanks.
4th gear probably would be a good gear for tillage chores, If the shifter does not "feel" like it snaps in gear it may have a broken detent spring in the shifter box, which is a not to hard a fix as it is removable after removing the trans cover. The resason I am suggesting that is that you said it does it occasionally. If it pops out under a hard pull that could indicate gear wear or a bad bearing, but if it randomly pops out it could be a weak or broken spring is not holdiing the shifter in place, I guess a bent shifter fork could also be a possibility. I guess if you are buying you proceed with caution as parts are not cheap if you must split it to replace gears. mEl
